spring flowers

A rather unexpected snow storm has descended on us here in Iceland, which in itself is not so bad. But I worry about the flowers that had recently emerged and the buds on the trees. These thing need a nice consistent warming trend to blossom, in my experience, and shelter from the wind.

Most of them will fortunately be OK. This happens most years. The birch, which buds are the most fragile fortunately doesn't get fooled by early warmth, just doesn't start until it's light enough. Plants that can't stand cold spells in the springtime don't really belong here, and wouldn't live many years.

ko-ster8, where are you? Sounds like you might be in Egilsstaðir...
