KFC

Tonight, since I have not been food shopping since I came home from California, I decided to go through the drive through at KFC, just like a normal American. Now I rather regret doing that, since the food was not good, even though it was convenient. Would have been much better to have watched the clock better, and to have gotten myself to Kasko before it closed. Guess I am a little bit too used to the extended shopping hours of U.S. grocery stores.

How late was it? I think to remember that the stores in Reykjavík were opened until 9pm.
I also wonder how much longer the KFC will be around? Heidelberg used to have one for a long time, but when military got less it closed too and the military over on your island are completely gone by now.

The KFC will be around, it was nowhere close to the naval base anyway. They've got at least 5 franchises I know of, maybe more. I tend to like KFC here, even though it's of course dreadfully fatty (they say no trans-fats by now, though). Went to a KFC in the States once and got horrid food, but it has been nice here, sorry to hear if it's getting worse.

There are stores here open 24/7, even though Kaskó isn't

My island! Hopefully that is true. Kasko closes at 6:30, and is not open on Sundays, but it has good stuff at a good price. My point was there is always a downside to convenience.
