Small miracles

My nails grow so much longer and stronger in Iceland than they do in California. Seriously, in California they chip and split and peal before ever cresting my finger, here I feel like I've gotten acrylics or something, I even have to type a whole different way, it is just amazing. I think it is something in the water.

It's strange, though that I made the complete opposite observation. While I was in Iceland my fingernails cracked, peeled, broke and were genuinely in a really bad shape. I think the issue was that I started living there in September and that all the darkness that was to follow was bad on the system (don't we need sunlight to actually make Vitamin D?). Also I was still a full vegetarian (no fish no nothing) which was probably not the best way in Iceland either.
Don't get me wrong, the water is terrific!
